The following individuals serve on the Lower Lights Ministries Board of Directors
Dr. Larry Pfahler - Chairperson
Psychiatrist, Alpha Psychiatric Services of Worthington
Currently a member of Grace Brethren Church of Columbus, Dr. Pfahler endeavors to promote emotional and relational wholeness to individuals. Dr. Pfahler spent 11 years in the Central African Republic as a medical missionary before returning to Central Ohio.
Sue Toth - Vice-Chairperson
Realtor, RE/MAX Impact
Ms. Toth is a long time member of Grace Brethren Church of Columbus, serving
on the Children's Advisory Board, the Care Team ministry, the wedding reception
committee,& the Hospitality ministry in several areas. She and her husband,
Steve, have 3 grown children, Chris, Sarah, and Melissa, as well as 2
grandchildren. Ms. Toth has been a Realtor in the Central Ohio area for 10
years and has served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Member Services Committee at
the Columbus Board of Realtors and has held various positions on two area
Realtor Associations.Rev. Rodney Kuhn - Secretary
Pastor, Whitehall Church of the Nazarene
Feeling that caring for the poor is a vital component to his calling, Pastor Kuhn has a special heart to serve the poor and disenfranchised in Columbus neighborhoods through works of benevolence.
Barbara Trent - Treasurer
Author, Educator
Ms. Trent is currently an
adjunct faculty member at Columbus State Community College and Franklin
University, an author of college-level textbooks, and an educational consultant,
speaker, and trainer. Ms. Trent was previously a department head and teacher
with South-Western City Schools and served as treasurer of South-Western
Education Association for many years. A member of Grove City Church of the
Nazarene, Ms. Trent is active in the Care Ministry.
Norbert Fischer
Accountant, American Electric Power
Mr. Fischer, a Certified Public Accountant, is currently
employed by American Electric Power. A graduate of Nazarene Theological
Seminary and Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Mr. Fischer has served in several
ministry roles, including Pastor and Chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserves. One of
his passions is helping find effective ways to reach out to the disenfranchised.
Norb is a member of Hilliard Church of the Nazarene and holds membership in the
Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Gloria Fitzpatrick
Director, Gladden Community House Food Pantry
Ms. Fitzpatrick, a mother
of four adult children and wife for 39 years, has resided in Franklinton for
over forty years and has witnessed firsthand the increased blight in the
neighborhood. Despite the hardships faced by Franklinton, Ms. Fitzpatrick
considers this the best community that one could live, and has worked at the
Gladden Community House Food Pantry for 15 years.
Dr. Buzz Inboden
Educator, Worthington Christian Schools
Mr. Inboden is a Bible and Psychology teacher at Worthington Christian High
School. He is a graduate of Williams College, Grace Theological Seminary, and
Westminster Theological Seminary. Previous to pursuing his calling as a
teacher, he served in pastoral and counseling ministries. He is also a member
of the faculty of Walk Thru the Bible ministries. Buzz and his family
attend Vineyard Church of Columbus.
Rev. Trevor Johnston
Director of Multicultural Ministries, Central Ohio District Church of the
Nazarene
Rev. Johnston returned
to Ohio in 2005 after serving 22 years overseas as an educator,
church-planter and missionary district superintendent in the Church of the
Nazarene. With his family, Rev. Johnston ministered in Haiti, the French
Antilles and for the past 12 years in France. His wife, Mary, is on staff at
Lower Lights Christian Health Center as the clinical dietician. Rev. Johnston's
experience in cross-cultural and multi-cultural ministry has deepened his desire
to see spiritual, emotional and physical wholeness offered to all people
everywhere.
Sharlon Koch
Instructional Assistant, Avondale Elementary School
Jim Laws
Electric Service Professionals
Semi-retired electrician, Mr. Laws has served on the
Grove City Church of the Nazarene Church Board for many years, and has been
active in other areas including serving as an usher, Sunday School teacher, Care
Ministry team, and singing in the choir. Mr. Laws and his wife, Barbara
have been married for 47 years, and have four children, and five grandchildren.
Bill Mowry
Regional Leader, The Navigators' Church Discipleship Ministry
Mr. Mowry is a veteran staff member with The Navigators and serves with The
Navigators' Church Discipleship Ministry. He holds an MA in adult education from
The Ohio State University and is a published author in the areas of evangelism,
discipleship, education, and leadership. Mr. Mowry's ministry vision is to see
an intentional disciple-making church within the reach of every person in
Central Ohio. He and his wife Peggy are members of Linworth Baptist Church where
Bill serves in a part-time staff responsibility.
Darrell Ranum
Vice-President of Risk Management, OHIC Insurance Company
Mr. Ranum, Attorney At Law, serves the Columbus areas in various capacities not limited to law. Mr. Ranum has a special interest in medical law and medicine itself. Until recently, Mr. Ranum has served an advisory role at the Ohio University Insurance Institute.

Founder, Lower Lights Ministries, Inc.
Pastor Fulks vision for a holistic approach to caring for the felt needs of individuals and families spawned the creation of Lower Lights Ministries. Today, Pastor Fulks remains vitally involved with the coordination of faith-based services in Franklinton.
Dr. J.W. Lambert - Member Emeritus
District Superintendent Emeritus, Central Ohio Nazarene District
Dr. Lambert has served as a pastor and District Superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene for nearly 50 years. In addition, Dr. Lambert has traveled continents on various mission trips and has served at many Nazarene educational institutions.
