- New Doctor at Lower Lights Christian Health Center
Dr. Allison Pond joined the staff at LLCHC this September as an
experienced Doctor of Osteopathy, which brings another dimension to the
comprehensive care LLCHC gives. Dr. Pond became acquainted with Dr. Dana
as she served her residency at the Mount Carmel Family Practice Program.
She is very excited about God using her to serve our neighbors in
Franklinton.
- Lower Lights Christian Health Center 5 K Run
On October 2, over 50 participants came out to run a 5 K race to raise money
for LLCHC. Members of the community came to support our athletes as we raised
nearly a thousand dollars to support the work of Dr. Dana and the staff.
County Commissioner Dewey Stokes came to cheer on the runners and offer a
word of encouragement.
- Rachel’s House Advisory Board
Rachel’s House now has a working Advisory Board of dedicated individuals who
are committed to helping Rachel’s House residents and program. This Board is
a compilation of RH volunteers, corrections’ workers, pastors, and friends of
the program. We are so excited about what their experience will bring to the
Rachel’s House program.
- We’re on the move this Autumn
This has been an incredible season of preparation and growth for the LLM
staff. As part of this preparation, our program directors have had the
privilege of attending several conferences and seminars not only gain
knowledge and how they can better serve LLM, but also a chance to help other
ministries as they begin similar programs.
- Grants, Grants, Grants
The National Christian Foundation awarded LLM with a matching grant of $1,000.
With supporters already aboard to match these grant funds, LLM is excited
about the support of this foundation and encouraged to seek after more
funding.

Rachel’s House goes to the Ohio Reformatory for Women
Recently, Warden Patricia Andrews and Chaplain Arthur Baron, ardent supporters
of Rachel's House who were pivotal to the success of the program at the Franklin
Pre-Release Center, transferred to the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville,
Ohio. This is the largest female prison in the entire state.
This transfer opened the door for Jan Ruark and Lower Lights to expand the
program to an additional institution. Though ORW poises some new
challenges, such as a population nearly three times as large as Franklin
Pre-Release, Jan is excited about the prospects to impact more lives of women
who need a second chance!

Feazel Roofing fulfills a generous offer to replace roof at Rachel's House II
Suffering in some chilly February weather, a crew from Feazel Roofing repaired a
VERY leaky roof at our second property. Leaks from the roof were causing
considerable damage to the home, and Mike and Todd Feazel committed to
contribute the labor and some material to replace the roof. Also helping
with the project was Palmer-Donovan Manufacturing who donated much of the
material.
Words cannot express our gratitude to Feazel Roofing and Palmer-Donovan for
investing in the lives of women!
