In 2002, a lifetime dream of Dr. Dana Vallangeon came true with the organization of the Lower Lights Christian Health Center. Since her teenage years, Dr. Dana has felt a calling to serve in medical missions in an urban setting. Little did she know that her “mission field” would be little more than a mile from Mount Carmel West, the hospital where she completed her residency.

Today, the Christian Health Center provides consistent, high quality healthcare by a full time physician and staff. More than a “free clinic”, Lower Lights Christian Health Center seeks to administer full service medical care to individuals regardless of their level of insurance or ability to pay – all in an atmosphere that reflects the love and healing of Jesus Christ. The Christian Health Center bases fees for services on a sliding scale fee, however, such payments fund only a small portion of operating costs. Individuals and corporate sponsors that believe that medical care should be accessible to all individuals are critical to funding this vital service.
